CHAPTER 3
Khushi was busy fidgeting with her dupatta.
Shyam had gone way overboard she decided. It was time she told someone about his filthy intentions! But whom?
Lost in deep thought she failed to notice Arnav striding up to her , and she almost collided with his form!
Arnav had stepped onto the upper landing, his eyes scanning the floor below. It was teaming with guests, family and friends alike. His hungry eyes searched for Khushi, but managed to land on a leering Shyam instead. Arnav fisted his hands on his sides as he followed his line of sight and spotted a nervous Khushi, standing across the hall....far far away from him. He strode towards Khushi with all purpose of blocking Shyam's view, but ended up losing himself in her eyes , as he had done so many times before, as she stared up at him somewhat startled!
Khushi was shocked to see him of all people before her. Was this an answer Devi Maiyya? She wondered. Was she to tell him?
Whereas Arnav seemed incapable of taking his eyes off this damsel! For a moment he even forgot what she said on the terrace!
"Khushi...", he husked, testing and tasting her name on his lips.
She shivered involuntarily. This man and his voice. It would be a surprise if she got a squeak past him! She visibly gulped as he advanced towards her with measured steps, blocking Shyam from the picture!
"Aa...aap?", she stuttered incoherently.
He just moved forward again.
"Ha...hatiye...!", she said, almost a whisper.
"Kyun?", he husked again.
" Humme jiji ke pass jana hai!", she said, regaining her composure ...somewhat!
He took another step towards her,leaning onto her, his nose a mere breath away from hers!
And then he stepped aside, letting her go, pleased with the effect he saw on her!
No, he thought. Definitely not fear!
Khushi dashed forward, grabbing the opportunity with both hands. What was with these Raizada men today? She wondered. On one hand she was repulsed by Shyam....but Arnavji...oh! She didn't even want to go there!

ReplyDeleteAah! But that would just take all the fun away now. .wouldn't it? Moreover . he still thinks she loves someone else... over all else Arnav Singh Raizada is a man.. and a proud one at that ;-) Lets just see how long his pride lets him restrain himself!
